'Gone Fishing' 1 Day Seminar - NO DATES SET

NOTE - THIS IS THE ONLY TIME THIS SEMINAR WILL BE RUN (OUTSIDE OF COMPETITIVE FILM FESTIVALS). THIS IS YOUR ONLY OPPORTUNITY TO ATTEND.

Date - TBC
Venue - Ealing Studios, West London
Price - £100 inc VAT

A unique opportunity to go on the film makers journey, starting a week BEFORE the actual one day seminar! It begins with script development, then moves through production and post production on the one day course, and finally a screening of the completed
movie in the evening. No other course has EVER offered the delegate this level of intimacy throughout the whole creative process - from first idea to final screening...

'Gone Fishing' stars Bill Patterson (Miss Potter), Devon Murray (Harry Potter series), and introduces James Wilson.

Welcome to the one day seminar on how this amazing 35mm movie was made, and what we learned on that journey. As an attendee, you will receive unprecedented access to all aspects of this very high level production.

The course is run by Chris Jones, veteran Guerilla Film Maker, with three features under his belt and as many books in the Guerilla Film Makers series. If you have read any of his books or attended his courses, you will already know just how passionately he speaks on the subject, with disarming honesty, while always conveying the ‘how too’ without getting bogged down by needless jargon or irrelevant anecdotes.

We will also outline how you can also work at the extremely high production values that we managed to achieve on ‘Gone Fishing’ and how to attract major talent such as top DP’s and actors.

Central to this groundbreaking event are two distinct objectives....

First, delegates will be taken through a completely new 'career planning' model so they can see clearly where they are in their career, and so they can plan what, and what not, to do next.

Second, we will take you on the creative journey in such a profound and detailed way that you will feel like you have made this film, and therefore, fully own the lessons learned. It really is a fast track to experience and knowledge.

You can read comments about 'Gone Fishing' here...

During the day, we will have guest speakers who worked on Gone Fishing. At the previous event we were lucky enough to have Casting Director Catherine Arton, DP Vernon Layton, Editor Eddie Hamilton and Senior Colour Grader John Claude. All these interviews will be repeated on DVD. In addition we will have live at the event Costume Designer Linda Haysman, Second Unit Director Simon Cox, and Sound Supervisor Bernard O'Reilly.

Course Objectives…

1. Attendees will leave having gone through the whole journey of the film, both as creative producers and directors.

2. Attendees will have an understanding of where they themselves are at in their own careers, and how to effectively move forward more quickly.

3. Attendees will be given access to all production data from Gone Fishing, including pre production and final budgets, schedules and all screenplay drafts.

4. Attendees will go on the editorial journey through different cuts, and experience the distillation process that will result in a film not just being good, but world class.
